Christian Fischer becomes new CIO at Kiekert

Heiligenhaus, April 27, 2022

Christian Fischer is the new Chief Digital & Information Officer (CIO) of Kiekert AG and has been responsible for the worldwide IT of the Heiligenhaus-based supplier of intelligent access systems since March 01, 2022. Digitalization is of particular importance for the company’s strategic orientation. The long-established company has set itself the goal of sustainably digitizing and specifically optimizing the global interaction of all internal processes. In his role, Christian Fischer reports directly to the CEO & CFO, Jérôme Debreu.

The 49-year-old, who lives in Switzerland, has more than 20 years of experience in IT management, controlling and operational processes. Among other positions, he was Group CIO of the Oerlikon Group for almost seven years and at Knorr-Bremse for over ten years – six of which as CIO Asia Pacific. Most recently, he spent four years as managing partner of an IT consulting firm in St. Gallen.

“Christian is the piece of the puzzle that we were still missing in the new Kiekert management team. I have known him personally for 20 years, when we both started our careers at Knorr-Bremse. During our time together in Asia, he implemented an IT environment from scratch that worked immediately, was a benchmark at the time and is still in use today. I am delighted to have attracted Christian to Kiekert with his experience and expertise, and not least his leadership qualities,” says CEO Jérôme Debreu.

Christian Fischer is looking forward to the tasks ahead: “The demands on IT have grown enormously, and the list of desired IT projects I was given at the beginning is by no means a one-pager. In the realignment, we must therefore first bring the IT strategy into line with our overarching Kiekert corporate strategy and, on this basis, expand our competencies in a targeted manner. This will enable us, together with our customers and partners, to further digitalize and automate our core processes and develop new, data- and technology-driven business areas,” says Mr. Fischer.

Mr. Fischer will consistently drive the IT transformation at Kiekert with a view to the company’s growth targets. With sustainable digitization initiatives, he will make a significant contribution to Kiekert’s long-term profitability. With this appointment, Kiekert is underlining the importance of IT and digitization for the future.
