Kiekert AG has followed with great dismay the media coverage of the victims and the destruction of the heavy rains in Germany. As a sign of solidarity and to provide rapid support to those affected, the CEO of the traditional German supplier to the automotive industry, Jérôme Debreu, has decided to donate €50,000. The funds are earmarked for “Aktion Deutschland Hilft e. V.” – Alliance of German Aid Organizations, which operates under the patronage of the former German President, Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler.
“Stunned and deeply saddened, we have observed how people have lost their possessions, homes or even family members as a result of the flood disaster. Our special sympathy goes to the bereaved families and the people affected by the floods. With this donation, we would like to make our contribution to the community of solidarity in order to provide rapid and immediately effective support on the ground,” says Jérôme Debreu.
Carl Seibel, member of the board of “Aktion Deutschland Hilft” says: “I am very grateful to Kiekert AG for this generous donation. People who were caught completely unprepared by this catastrophe are in need of just such an unbureaucratic commitment right now. We will quickly and immediately convert this amount into tangible support for those affected.”
The alliance “Aktion Deutschland Hilft” consists of 23 experienced aid organizations that provide emergency aid on the ground. This includes the provision of shelter, drinking water and medical assistance. The organization will stand by the affected people in the long term and support reconstruction efforts.
